What is the Purpose of Obstacles?

A military obstacle when it comes to battle is anything used to slow down or impede the progress of the enemy. Obstacles should always be covered with firepower so that when you slow him down you can kill him. Hopefully you can get him tangled up and confused in the obstacle which makes it easier to take him out.

Obstacles can be just about anything that you can use. The smart commander will take advantage of natural obstacles such as rivers, mountains, lakes, mud, dense vegetation, soft sand etc. He should cover these by fire and should blend them in with man made obstacles whenever possible.

Obstacles are also used to channel the enemy into what are known as kill zones. To do this you set up the obstacle in a way that pushes him into the area where you can easily kill him.
Some other examples of man made obstacles include barbed wire, concrete blocks, logjams, minefields and many many others.

All of my custom military ring customers who are in the combat arms of the service have been trained on how to use obstacles.
