The HUMVEE Ring Design

  The HUMVEE is the all purpose military utility vehicle which replaced the jeep in the US military. It had to be good to replace the jeep and it is. It is a versatile multipurpose military utility vehicle. The word utility simply means that it is used for every conceivable purpose.

I have seen these vehicles along with the old jeeps being used in just about every type of terrain, and even in places where it just seemed to be impossible to traverse.

The military needed a durable rugged vehicle to replace the jeep and the HUMVEE was approved and we saw its use begin in the 1980's. The main purpose of this vehicle is to transport troops and equipment around on the battlefield and in training. It is durable and rugged and has proven itself on the modern battlefield.

There are many variations of this vehicle which shows how it is adaptable and can be used in many different ways. Our troops began to add makeshift armor in Iraq and Afghanistan because of the danger form IED's. The military took note and began to add extra armor on these vehicles to protect troops from the blast from IED's. Terrorists responded by making the explosive devices more powerful so we responded again with other variatons and other vehicles.
