Drug Cartels are Getting Bolder

   Drug cartels have recently murdered an American Border Patrol Agent recently. We need to do something drastic in order to shore up our southern border.

This happened on US soil mind you. The cartels don't mind killing Americans and any one else that stand between them and their money. I for one believe that we should find a way to get our military more involved in patrolling and policing our borders. Our military troops should be placed on the border and given the right to use deadly force whenever they are fired upon by cartel members. Of course we can't just give them all carte blanche to do whatever they want to do but we need to take aggressive action.

If cartel members don't mind coming onto US soil and exchanging in gunfire with US officials and civilians I consider it to be an invasion of soveriegn US soil. As such we need our military to police the border and expel all invaders. Many of the cartel members have belonged to the Mexican Special Forces and many of them were trained by the US military. Our border patrol agents are not neccessarily trained in military tactics and doctrine.

The agents were part of a three man patrol in the area and were responding to a motion detection sensor before they encountered gunfire, according to Homeland Security officials. This obviously demonstrates that they are not asfraid of conflict with US government officials and have no respect for US authority. As such we should respond with all due force and dilligence.

 I believe that we should build a huge military base along the worst part of the border with Mexico where we would conduct joint operations which would include military ring customers from every branch of the military service.
