Matt Bissonnette 's Problems May be Just Beginning

No Easy Day cover Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is suggesting that a retired Navy SEAL be punished for writing a book giving an insider's account of the U.S. raid that killed terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. I don't think that they will actually punish him with jail time. I believe that they will do all that they can to eliminate any profits that he might recieve from the sales of the book. I know that sales have been through the roof because of all of the hype surrounding its publication.
.
The biggest worry about this book is that it seems to be part of a growing pattern amongst Special Operators to write about their experiences. The military does not want this because of the fact that it discloses too much information to potential enemies. Normally the enemy gets a first hand account of operations immediately before they die.

Terrorist groups could use the information to adjust their tactica and possibly kill or injure our personnel. When an ex Special Operator writes an account of the missions that he has been involved in he shows no regard for the safety and well being of our Navy SEAL and other Special Operations Forces who are stationed in various places around the world.
