Should an Insurgent that Killed an American have been Targeted?

arab pro democracy movement   I am going to say yes to the question that I asked at the top of this article. I know that it cost a bunch of money, time, and equipment but the message that it sends is invaluable. Propaganda is a necessary part of war and when good news is created it increases the morale and the fighting spirit of your troops.

The morale of the troops who knew 1st Lt Alejo Thompson will be lifted by the news that his assassin has been killed along with the morale of countless other US troops who are serving in the war on terror.

The insurgent who was known as Mahmood was a member of the Afghan Security Force before he turned his weapon on his comrade and shot him. He defected to the Taliban afterwards and they used the incident as propaganda to support their cause. Now the tables have been turned with his subsequent death.

Mahmood was featured in a Taliban video after he ran away which showed him being welcomed by them as a hero. In the video he was still wearing his afghan Army uniform and holding an American made M-16.

Killing him sends a strong message to the Taliban and anyone else around the world opposing us in this war. The message is also to others who would possiblt think about committing the same type of attack. They now know that there will be consequences to pay for their actions. Our Operation Enduring Freedom Ring customers need to know that the traitor that killed one of their own has paid the price for his actions.
