How to Create a Special Operations Ring

Troops who serve in Special Operations units tend to remain in these types of units throughout their military careers. They do so because they are a different breed of person and once they make it into these units they become addicted to the life style. For most of them going back to a regular combat unit would be akin to a death sentence.

The work ethic of Special Operations units is different from that of any civilian job. These troops along with regular combat troops will not blink if they learn that they will have to work a 24 or 48 hour day. They won't quit on their mission. They will see it through until either it has been accomplished or they are dead.

I know that when troops from different types of Special Operations units train together there is an ongoing battle to impress the others. This shows their pride and espirit. It is good that they are proud of their units because it carries over into everything that they do.

They will do extra in an effort to outdo the rest of the troops who may be taking part in the same training. No one will concede or allow themselves to be bested.

This fanaticism is what makes them such great troops because they hate to lose in peacetime which is the result of an indomitable spirit. This spirit is more often than not the difference between winning and losing in combat. Technology plays a part but the quality of the weapons that our troops use and have is only second to their mental toughness. Mental toughness is more important than physical toughness. The mind can push the body far past the point that it thinks it can go.
