Where to Create an Air Force Unit Ring?

072910-f-35  The Air Force like any other branch of the military is composed of different and diverse units. Each unit has a specialized function but the end result is that they are all there to support the pilots who fly into combat.

Some of the units never enter the field of combat but their support is vital to the force. Some of these types of units may be finance units because troops need to be paid, medical units because troops need to be healthy and fit, and police units because law and order need to be maintained. As far as the law goes, lawyers, and judges are needed.

There are units that keep ordinance safe, store ordinance, refuel aircraft and other vehicles, operate the many different weapons systems, feed the troops, and utilize the technology that is needed to keep our military on top.

Each one of these specialty units has to undergo special training and has a designated specific function which is designed to contribute to the success of the entire force. No other unit can perform that function adequately so there is a lot of responsibility placed on the shoulders of unit commanders. When a unit fails to accomplish its job the result can very easily be the loss of lives of other servicemen in the Air Force and other branches of service.

All troops are trained in the basic troop skills during what is called basic training or boot camp. After this they go on to their specialty training. Once this is completed they will join a unit in order to learn how to actually apply their new skills. This is when the real training begins. The airman will continue to learn and undergo training throughout his or her time in service.

Air Force unit personnel have every right to be proud of the job that they do because each unit is critical regardless of the service that they perform for the force.

We have done all that we can in the design of our Air Force Rings to create something for every possible type of unit.
